STYLING

After a decade of working in theatre and film as a curvier woman, I have learned to always be prepared to bring my own wardrobe. Not all productions were equipped to provide me with the costuming necessary for me to do my own job. Working as a “midsize” model, I watched women my size and larger having to work twice as hard to get recognition with companies unfamiliar with dealing with average or larger sized women. Through this I accumulated a wealth of knowledge about costuming and historical fashion, researching what I would have to provide to not only do my job, but to forward my career. I found an appreciation for the subcultures that have given us some of the trends we know and love today. I became friends with people of all sizes, genders, backgrounds, and cultures all through a shared love of finding beauty in unusual places. My goal through my styling and my writing is to introduce people to new ideas, to experiment with their personal expression, and be able to walk out of the house every day with an open heart and a killer outfit.
